Grilling season opened on an auspiciously beautiful day in the Bay Area. Is there any more enjoyable way to enjoy great weather than with fire, food and friends? Salted-kumquat quails & duck gizzards were the big hits. We also made vegan dishes including squash blossoms and burgers that were devoured by guests with dietary restrictions and omnivores alike.

Our first year entrusted with the holiday meals. It was satisfying to see our parents able to sit back and relax, even more gratifying to have them enjoy the fruits of our labor.
Our epic housewarming dinner: 5-hr long dinner with 14 courses for 14 guests. You know the food was good when no one wanted to skip any course on the menu even though everyone complained about being full 2/3 of the way through.
